Talent Requirements for Application

Application to the Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance requires an audition. Applicants can select their audition preference on the Music Supplement (sent 24-28 hours after submitting the University/Common application). Audition requirements vary by instrument.

About Bachelor of Music, Voice Performance

Taught by dedicated faculty with extensive expertise and distinguished performing careers, our singers enjoy an option-rich curriculum with major instruction in secure vocal technique, science-informed pedagogy, diverse performance practice and literature, and lyric diction in English and foreign languages. Additionally, opportunities abound for cross-disciplinary study in composition, jazz, music education, Alexander Technique, and speech and hearing science. Our singers acquire stage experience through art song recitals, musical theater, choral concerts, and in opera scenes and productions. Our alumni enjoy success as winners of prestigious competitions, private studio teachers, published authors, recitalists, and in musical theater, opera, and as members of professional choruses.
