Information regarding applying for an undergraduate music degree program as a second-choice major.

  • On the University Application, the only music degree option for individuals who list music as their second-choice major is the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. The second-choice option on the application means that if you are denied your first choice, your application will be reviewed for your second-choice major.
  • At the University of Illinois, you can only declare a second degree after you’ve earned 30 credits on campus. Students interested in pre-approval to pursue Music as a dual degree should email MusicAdmissions@illinois.edu once their University Application is submitted for more information.
