DMA Composer Liann J. Kang has been awarded the 2024 Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship, enabling her to study with renowned composers João Pedro Oliveira and Philippe Hurel.

Doctoral Candidate Liann J. Kang (formerly Jung Hyun Lee) Wins First Prize in 2024 Sweetwater/SEAMUS Student Commissioning Competition for her composition, IMAGES (I and II), for alto saxophone and electronics.

Music composition student Xavier Davenport received a scholarship to study one of 14 critical languages abroad.

Professor Stephen Taylor (Composition, Theory, and Music Technology faculty) received a 2024 Music Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The award acknowledges "composers as artists who have arrived at their own voice." The award provides support for recording as well as a spring performance at the Arts and Letters location in New York. The award will be presented at the Academy’s annual May celebration.
