Percussion Ensemble

The University of Illinois Percussion Ensemble gave its first concert in the Spring of 1951, and is the first for-credit percussion ensemble in the country. The group performs the great works from the percussion canon, including those by Edgard Varese and John Cage, and the newest works for the medium written in the past few years. The group is designed for percussion majors, but is open to non-majors by audition and when spaces are available.
