The University of Illinois School of Music offers a large selection of ensembles that are open, by audition, to all students regardless of their major. Some of our ensembles are also open to community members. These include Campus Band, University Band, Black Chorus, Oratorio Society, Balkanalia, etc.
All Students: Register for the MUSC 400-level number, unless otherwise specified (for some courses an audition is required)
For Fall 2023, all woodwind, brass and percussion players will audition for placement in concert bands and orchestra wind sections. For all other ensembles, auditions are only offered for new students depending on available space. Please contact the director of the ensemble(s) you are interested in to request an audition.
