Rocio Lima Guaman, a DMA student in Flute Performance, will be participating in the Global Leaders Program (Youth Orchestras of America) during 2016-17.
The School of Music fall Open House will be September 27, 2016. Prospective students, alumni and other interested members of the Illinois Community are welcome to attend classes, rehearsals and master classes. Registration is required, but there is no cost to participate.

Graduate student composer Dennis Reyes is the grand prize winner of the 2016 Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble Composition Competition. The competition drew submissions from composers from nineteen different countries, including Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Russia, and China.
Tammie Walker has been named Director of the School of Music at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She holds both a Masters and a Doctoral degree in Piano Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois.
Illinois doctoral student Moye Chen has won the 3rd Prize in the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, one of the world's most prestigious piano competitions.
Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Andrew Megill recently made “waves" at the Carmel Bach Festival (Carmel-by-the-Sea, California), where he served as the associate conductor.
