Alumnus Zhen Piao (AD, MM '17) has won First Prize in the Lynnwood Farnam Organ Competition.
Alumnus Zhen Piao (AD, MM '17) has won First Prize in the Lynnwood Farnam Organ Competition.
Zhen Piao (AD in organ, 2017, and MM in piano) has won 2nd prize in the Shanghai International Organ Competition. The Competition took place September 14-15, 2017 at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. Zhen was one of six finalists from five countries.
Reported to be the first international organ competition in China, the Competition was held as part of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music's International Organ Festival. Finalists perfomed on one of the largest organs in China: a 5-manual, 88-rank Rieger instrument.
Zhen Piao, an artist diploma organ student of Dana Robinson, has been selected as one of six finalists in the First Shanghai Conservatory of Music International Organ Competition. He will perform in Shanghai, China, for the two final rounds of the competition on September 14-15, 2017.
Zhen was among 24 applicants from 9 different countries. Zhen holds the MM in piano from the University of Illinois, where he studied with William Heiles.
