In December 2025, School of Music Director of Admissions and alumna Thereza Lituma (BM ’20, BME ’20, MM ’22) had the privilege of making her New York Philharmonic debut in the chorus of Handel’s Messiah. She performed with the incredible Music of the Baroque Chorus under the direction of Dame Jane Glover, prepared by Dr. Andrew Megill. Says Lituma: “I am deeply grateful for the music, the people, and this unforgettable experience.” Lituma received her BMus in Vocal Performance and her BME in Music Education, Choral Music in 2020, and she received her MMus in Voice Performance and Literature in 2022.
The performance received praise from Seen and Heard International, stating “it had a wonderful weightlessness and buoyancy” and that “The ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ rang out triumphantly.” The performances were at the Wu Tsai Theater at David Geffen Hall in New York City from December 10-13, 2025.
