About Ming Kim
Bio
Mingyeong Kim is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Piano Pedagogy at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she studies piano pedagogy with Dr. Christos Tsitsaros and piano with Dr. Rochelle Sennet. She is passionate about teaching piano and developing collaborative skills, including music technology. At UIUC, she is currently working as a piano instructor of the Illinois Community Music Academy, providing private lessons in a diverse and international studio of younger students to graduate students. She is also holding a teaching assistantship, teaching the Korean language for the undergraduate course. Recently, she participated in the 2022 annual Illinois State Music Teachers Association conference and performed as a guest pianist for the faculty concert of Eastern Illinois University. As a member of the JUA (Joy in Us, Always) piano quartet ensemble, she has performed for the communities of the Chicago area. Ming graduated from Seoul Arts High School in South Korea and received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. She studied piano performance certificate program with a full scholarship at Judson University in Elgin, IL, where she studied with Dr. Sojung Hong and served as a teaching assistant in Music Theory and Piano Ensemble and accompanist in Judson University Choir.
