About Anna Wallace
Bio
Anna Wallace, a violinist native to Columbus, Ohio, began her classical training at the age of 6. She is an active orchestral and chamber musician and throughout her musical career, she has toured both nationally and internationally with the Suzuki Music Columbus Tour Group and competed nationally in chamber ensembles through Chamber Music Connection in Columbus. She has worked with nationally recognized artists in coachings, masterclasses, and workshops, including Almita Vamos, David Kim, Calidore Quartet, Cavani Quartet, and others. Over the past several summers, Anna was invited to attend the Greenlake Chamber Music Institute, the Northwestern Summer Violin Institute, the Domaine Forget Violin Intensive Program, and received an Emerging Artist Fellowship from the Garth Newel Music Center. A versatile player, Anna also has performance experience in many different genres, including rock, jazz, and fiddle. Anna performed extensively with her high school rock band on her 7-string electric violin and in 2018, they were finalists in the Battle of the Bands competition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Anna completed her Bachelor’s of Music at McGill University in 2022, studying under Violaine Melançon. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s of Music at the University of Illinois where she is studying with Megan Freivogel. In her free time, she enjoys baking, doing yoga, painting, learning rock songs on electric violin, and catching up on TV shows.
