The University of Illinois Philharmonia Orchestra (UIPO) is the second orchestra in the School of Music and draws its membership from both music majors and students from throughout the university community. The orchestra rehearses twice weekly and performs a diverse selection of repertoire. The Philharmonia performs two concerts a semester, and sometimes accompanies one of the productions of the Lyric Theatre program.  The orchestra serves as one of the School of Music's many outlets for non-music majors to continue and cultivate their devotion to the musical arts, and is open to all students on campus.
