From January 15-18, 2026, the University of Illinois Women’s Glee Club went on tour to southern Illinois and Nashville, TN.
On Thursday, they started their trip with stops and performances at Effingham High School and Charleston High School in southern Illinois. They then proceeded in Nashville, where they had dinner at The Hampton Social. On Friday, they got up and went to Hillsboro High School in Nashville before going to to the Nashville Parthenon. The rest of night was free for the glee members to do whatever they wanted and explore Nashville, including attending karaoke and a drag show.
Saturday, the glee club started off by going to the historic RCA Studio B and recording “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” arranged by J. David Moore. Dr. Andrea Solya and accompanist Andrey Ivanov played the piano Elvis Presley used for playing and songwriting. After stopping for lunch at the Assembly Food Hall, they then went to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a tour and a performance in front of the fountain. The evening was spent line-dancing at Category 10. Finally on Sunday, the chorus went to Christ the King Catholic Church and sung during mass before making their way back home to Champaign.
