University of Illinois School of Music professor Yvonne Gonzales Redman has been inducted into the American Academy of Teachers of Singing.
We are proud to announce that Professor Yvonne Gonzales Redman has been inducted into the American Academy of Teachers of Singing (AATS), a singular honor that recognizes her outstanding contributions to the field of vocal pedagogy.
Founded in 1922, AATS is dedicated to advancing the profession of singing through excellence in teaching and the highest standards of ethical practice with the express purpose of contributing to the singing profession in an advisory capacity.
Membership in this esteemed body is strictly limited to 40 members, and invitations are extended only to artist teachers whose careers reflect significant achievements in performance, teaching, and scholarship at internationally recognized levels.
Professor Redman’s induction into AATS is a testament to her distinguished career, her deep commitment to vocal excellence, and her influence in shaping the next generation of artists and educators.
In addition, she and her research team, which includes her student Dr. Carly Wingfield, a 2024 Kinley Memorial Fellowship winner and recent graduate, and School of Music affiliate Dr. Pasquale Bottalico, have had their article using virtual reality accepted for publication into the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America entitled “Singing in Virtual versus Real Rooms: Is It the Same?”
Please join us in congratulating Professor Redman and Drs. Wingfield and Bottalico on this exceptional recognition!
