This is a current-use fund that gives the School of Music the greatest capacity to meet the school's most pressing needs during this challenging time.

The Smith Music Legacy Scholarship Fund is our highest priority for private support. Named in honor of Smith Memorial Hall, the project was established to raise significant support for student scholarships as we reach the 100-year anniversary of the hall’s cornerstone (2017) and opening (2022).

This fund provides financial support for new opportunities and innovations as they arise in the School of Music and was established to support projects by students and faculty. This fund is guided by the Director of the School of Music.

The Harold Decker Choral Excellence Fund honors Harold Decker (1914-2003), one of the leading figures in choral music in the mid-20th century. This fund provides much-needed support for choral activities, such as commissioning new works by leading composers, scholar- and artist-in-residence programs, choral ensemble tours, and scholarships for talented students.

The success of our Illinois Bands program depends greatly on the continued support of loyal alumni and friends. We are working on a multi-year endeavor to purchase and maintain instruments in both our concert and athletic bands, ensuring that our students have the quality equipment expected of ensembles of this caliber.

Lyric Theatre at Illinois touches students in majors from the performing arts to engineering, faculty members across the arts and sciences, and community members of all ages. Private support helps ensure that we can provide outstanding resources, including support to bring in guest artists to inspire and educate, and scholarships for our talented students.

The Illinois Summer Youth Music Scholarship Support Fund assists in our efforts to reach more schools, communities and students with our ISYM programs.
