This trio first came together at Chicago’s Hungry Brain during a month-long Thursday residency series in September 2024. The occasion was a reunion between Chicago-based musicians Dave Rempis (saxophones), Jason Adasiewicz (vibraphone) returning from a multi-year hiatus and Chris Corsano (drums), who recently relocated to the city. The first performance was so compelling, Rempis booked more engagements in Chicago and Milwaukee to further activate the trio, leading to the issue their debut recording Dial Up (2025, Aerophonic Records). Experience three leading improvising artists, each who command broad and unique palettes on their instruments, in motion together in service to the evolution and development of the spontaneous sound they bring forth.
Improvisers Exchange musicians will open the evening with a short set of collaborative works.
Improvisers Exchange is a multifaceted initiative led by Jason Finkelman broadly exploring omni-idiomatic improvised music. IE @ Rosebowl Tavern provides opportunity to present unique combinations of University of Illinois ensemble members along with improvising artists from our community and beyond.
