Recording features Jupiter Quartet in new works by Su Lian Tan

"Revelations" is a new recording on the Arsis label featuring music by flutist and composer Su Lian Tan.

Life in Wayang, composed for and premiered by the Takács Quartet in 2003, is inspired by the shadow puppets of Indonesia.

The second work Orfeo in Asia imagines the Greek protagonist in South-east Asia rather than Hades. Composed for piano alone, Orfeo in Asia features pianist Bruce Brubaker.

Rounding out the disc is the title selection Revelations, for string quartet and piano. Revelations [evokes] "a central struggle of an academic life: the pressure to achieve individually while remaining devoted to a community of peers and students."

Revelations will be available in June through all major on-line sources, as well as from the E.C. Shirmer/Canticle Label.

Sheet music is also available from E.C. Shirmer.
