Illinois Percussion Symposium

A day of percussion activity for high school or college students and music educators.

The Illinois Percussion Symposium will include master classes on orchestral percussion: snare drum, timpani, accessory instruments (bass drum, cymbals, tambourine, triangle, castanets), and percussion section playing, as well as solo mallet keyboard, drum set, and Afro-Cuban world percussion. Participants may submit repertoire proposals to perform in any of the master classes.

This is a free event.

8:30 am: Registration
9-9:50 am: Snare drum
10-10:50 am: Timpani
11-11:50 am: Accessories
12-1 pm: Lunch at Illinois Street Residence Hall (provided)
1:15-1:30 pm: KCPA Tour of FGH & TFT, Percussion areas
1:30-2:30 pm: Orchestral Sectional
2:30-3:20 pm: Keyboard
3:30-4:20 pm: Drum Set
4:30-5:45 pm: World Percussion
5:45-6 pm: Conclusion
