Two senior Musicology students presented their capstone research at the 2026 Undergraduate Research Symposium in April. Liam Kelly delivered an oral presentation, “‘Wonder Why We Ever Go Home’: Tropical Utopia and the Soundscape of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville” (research mentor: Carlos Roberto Ramirez); and Rachel Yeonwoo Cho shared a poster, “Understanding Pansori Beyond Language: A Comparison with Western Musical Theatre” (research mentor: M. (EJ) Eagen-Jones). Both presentations were well received, sparking thoughtful questions and discussion. Liam and Rachel graduate this spring and will continue to develop their research in graduate studies — Liam at Florida State, Rachel in London.
