UIUC Alum Donald Nally (DMA ’95, Choral Music) has once again made history, winning his fourth GRAMMY Award for Best Choral Performance at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards on February 2 for Ochre. The album was performed by The Crossing, the acclaimed Philadelphia-based professional chamber choir conducted by Nally, and features music by George Lewis, Ayanna Woods, and Caroline Shaw
Since earning his Doctor of Musical Arts from UIUC in 1995, Nally has been a transformative force in choral music, renowned for his bold programming and dedication to contemporary vocal artistry. Under his direction, The Crossing has released 34 albums, earning four GRAMMY Awards for Best Choral Performance (2018, 2019, 2023, 2025) and receiving ten GRAMMY nominations.
