Landscapes in Sound and Ink explores the rich dialogue between Taiwanese visual art and music. Presented in conjunction with the Ink Shower exhibition at the Krannert Art Museum and produced in collaboration with the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, this program brings together works inspired by landscape, memory, nature, and cultural identity.
Featuring music by Taiwanese composers for piano trio and solo piano, the concert reflects the poetic atmosphere of ink painting traditions through sound, evoking mountains, water, mist, and shifting emotional landscapes. Through the interplay of visual art and music, audiences are invited to experience how musical textures and colors parallel the expressive brushwork and spatial imagination found in Taiwanese ink paintings.
This collaborative event celebrates Taiwan’s artistic heritage while fostering cross-cultural understanding through music and visual art.
