Winners Announced in Sinfonia da Camera's Concerto Competition
Two current students and a member of the High School Chamber Music Academy were selected to perform with Sinfonia da Camera.
Stella Faux is the winner of the Youth Division (17 and under). Stella Faux is a senior at Uni High school and has been playing the violin since the age of five. She began lessons with Robin Kearton and now studies with Igor Kalnin. She has participated in a number of local musical groups such as the East Central Illinois Youth Orchestra and Honors String Quartet.
Chia-Ying Chan, originally from Taiwan, was one of two winners in the Open Division. She has given solo performances and recitals across Taiwan, America and Europe, including at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Austurias (Spain); the Sala dei Notari (Italy); National Recital Hall (Taiwan); Carnegie Weill Hall (New York), and has been invited to perform at the Wiener Saal Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. She is an Artist Diploma Student of Prof. Timothy Ehlen.
Hana Lim is also a winner in the Open Division. She is currently a DMA student of Prof. Ian Hobson.
Winners receive a cash prize as well as the opportunity to perform a movement from the concerto they performed to win.

Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4, Allegro moderato
Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 2, Moderato
Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46
Britten: The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
