Spring 2021 Guest Lecturer featured in Rolling Stone Magazine

Musical artist, Yuneer Gainz, was recently named a "TuneCore Certified 2021 Hot 50 Independent Artist to Watch' in Rolling Stone magazine. Coinciding with the start of his guest lecture appearances in MUS 499 Intro to Popular Music Songwriting during Spring 2021, Yuneer began releasing a song a week as an independent artist. He released his music with TuneCore as his sole distributor and piqued the interest of top members of the company. The July-August issue of Rolling Stone, which features Billy Eilish on the cover, included his recognition as one of the "2021 Hot 50 Independent Artist to Watch".

Yuneer Gainz was a guest lecturer/co-instructor for Professor Lamont Holden's MUS 499 Intro to Popular Music Songwriting during the 2021 Spring semester. Appearing once a week virtually, Yuneer taught students how to structure their songwriting across genres, in ways that tapped into emotional reservoirs in addition to the application of techniques used to build hooks, verses and bridges. He built an amazing rapport with the students and they looked forward to working with him each week. Yuneer is a native of Brooklyn, NY and has been a vocal performer, songwriter, arranger and engineer for 15+ years. Yuneer will also be a featured guest at ISYM Hip Hop Camp 2021.
