Mickey Chien wins 1st Prize in Regional Competition

DMA candidate Mickey Chien has won 1st prize in the 14th Southern Illinois Young Artist Competition, held at Edwardsville, IL, April 22nd.

Competitors came from several other major schools of music located across the midwest. 

Mickey's 1st prize award includes a cash prize of $1000. His winning peformance included the Fantasiestücke, Op.12 by Robert Schumann, and Transcendental Étude No. 10 by Franz Liszt. 

Mickey Chien is currently the Collaborative Pianist at the Bradley University, and is a DMA candidate at U of I. He is a student of Timothy Ehlen.
