We are thrilled to announce another outstanding addition to our faculty with the appointment of Lamont Holden, Assistant Clinical Professor of Music Audio and Recording Technologies. Professor Holden has taught popular music production courses in the School of Music in past semesters and we are excited that he will be joining us as a full-time faculty member this fall.

Mr. Holden is an independent music producer known as TheLetterLBeats. While honing his skills primarily on Reason Studios, Lamont has been making and producing music, DJing, hosting podcasts, and serving as a videographer, social media content creator, sound designer, teacher, and audio engineer for over 12 years.

Professor Holden earned a B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004 and an M.A. in Teaching & Education from National Louis University in 2011. He looks forward to working with School of Music students and facilitating pathways to the professional music industry by way of his “The Art of Beatmaking”, music business, and songwriting courses.

Please join us in welcoming Lamont to his new position and the School of Music community!
