For the third time in four years, three University of Illinois Flutists have been selected as quarterfinalists for the United States most prestigious and competitive solo flute competition. Jenny Shin, Pei Cheng, and Jean Lee have been selected among 15 flutists worldwide for the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition quarterfinals, to be held this summer at the annual convention in Salt Lake City. Joining them, flutist Joo Chung will be competing as one of three finalists selected worldwide for the Orchestra Audition and Masterclass Competition.
