Claire Happel Ashe Awarded P.E.O. Scholar Award
Ms. Happel, DMA student, has been awarded a Scholar Award by the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO).
P.E.O. Scholar Awards (PSA) recognize and encourage excellence in higher education by providing partial support for study and research to women who will make significant contributions in their varied fields of endeavor. Ms. Happel was nominated by the Monticello (IL) chapter of PEO for this national award. Priority is given to women who are well established in their programs, study or research.
Claire Happel Ashe is pursuing her doctorate in Harp Performance at Illinois; her doctoral project looks at the application of the Alexander Technique and developmental movement patterns in harp performance. She is the recipient of a 2018-2019 PSA award which is accompanied by a cash prize of $15,000.
Ms. Happel Ashe is a student of Professor Ann Yeung.
