Alumnus Charles Lynch Joins Arizona State University Faculty
Dr. Charles W. Lynch III joins Arizona State University's Herberger Institute for Design and Arts School of Music faculty this year. Dr. Lynch also heads the Mesa Public Schools harp program as Harp Specialist. With his appointment, Dr. Lynch has launched a new initiative and partnership between ASU and MPS for a graduate assistantship in harp with immersive practical training through the MPS harp program for 2019-2020. MPS is at the largest public school district in Arizona, recognized as a 2018 Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. The MPS Harp Program, now in its 45th year, currently has over 240 students over 16 schools and two district high harp schools.
Dr. Lynch is an alumnus of the Illinois harp program, has published and presented his research on alumna Dr. Roslyn Rensch with Professor Ann Yeung, and previously led harp programs at universities in Illinois and Indiana. He will return to the Midwest this summer for the 2019 Midwest Harp Festival.
