Alumna Jenny Wong Named Associate Artistic Director of Los Angeles Master Chorale

Jenny Wong (BM Vocal Performance, '09), formerly assistant conductor of the Los Angeles Master Chorale (the resident chorus of Walt Disney Hall), has just been promoted to the newly created position of Associate Artistic Director. 

A native of Hong Kong, Dr. Wong has conducted and performed in Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, South Korea, China and across the United States. She has previously conducted several programs with the Master Chorale, and conducted them on tour in performances of Orlando di Lasso’s Lagrime di San Pietro (staged by Peter Sellars); at the Melbourne International Arts Festival in Melbourne, Australia; the Festival Internacionale Cervantino in Guanajuato and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Mexico; and around the United States. She has prepared choruses for Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic, Susanna Mälkki, Eric Whitacre, María Guinand, and Music Academy of the West, including for the U.S. premiere of Tan Dun’s Buddha Passion.
