Get Involved with Music at Illinois!

The School of Music provides many opportunities for students to become involved with student life as well as the campus and local musical communities. From social to service to professional organizations, students are sure to find a way to get involved with Music at Illinois.

The School of Music hosts several Audition Days each year for prospective students. Student volunteers are needed to assist with registration, audition and exam proctoring, and information sessions throughout these two days. It is our hope that we will be able to showcase the School of Music not only with our great facilities and faculty, but also with our great students.  If you're interested in helping out, contact for more information!

The School of Music collaborates with Urbana Middle School each year to provide fun, engaging musical activities to band and orchestra students at an afterschool program called Make More Music!. If you're interested in volunteering for this program, contact the Office of Public Engagement for more information.

Each year, upper class music students are paired with incoming first year students in the Music Mentors program. The program is designed to teach leadership and mentorship to older students while ensuring incoming students have a successful and positive first semester in the School of Music. If you're interested in participating in the Music Mentors program, please contact Jancie Philippus.
