"Musician Health and Wellness" with Bridget Sweet

In order to maximize our abilities as musicians, it is important to care for ourselves in many ways. Come and stretch, learn about basic vocal and hearing health, as well as strategies for being kind to oneself as a person and musician.

All are welcome, from middle schooler to practicing teacher to church musician, instrumentalist to vocalist to laptop musician and beyond!

About the presenter:

Bridget Sweet is Associate Professor of Music Education and is the author of the books Growing Musicians: Teaching Music in Middle School and Beyond (2016, Oxford University Press) and Thinking Outside the Voice Box: Adolescent Voice Change in Music Education (2019, Oxford University Press). Her research interests include choral music education, female and male adolescent voice change, empowering adolescent music students and their teachers, and intersections of diversity and the music classroom.
