Dai-An Liu and Renée Murphy, harps, with the Murphy family

Internationally distinguished and award-winning Renée Murphy returns to perform scintillating solos by J.S. Bach, A. Caplet, R. Glière, and H. Renié, and an arrangement of Ennio Morricone’s La Califfa, featuring her parents, saxophonist Otis Murphy (Indiana University Jacobs School of Music) and pianist Haruko Murphy, with her siblings, Kevin (French horn), Ethan (cello), and Faith (flute). In 2017, Renée won the Carmel Symphony Orchestra Young Artist, performing the Glière Harp Concerto last fall and represented the United States in the Hong Kong World Harp Congress Focus on Youth Concerts. Dai-An Liu makes her iSHC debut in solos by Spohr, Krenek, Liszt, and Nino Rota. She is a talented multi-instrumentalist, with honors in percussion, piano, and harp. She received her bachelor's degree with distinction and the Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. She currently is the recipient of the Cooke Fellowship at Illinois.
