Dr. Andrew Megill, conductor

ecco is a small chamber choir of fine singers from the University of Illinois School of Music and Urbana-Champaign community.  Founded in 2015 under the artistic direction of Dr. Andrew Megill, the ensemble specializes in early music and includes faculty and graduate students in conducting, voice, and musicology/music theory. They are committed to a convivial exploration of ensemble music, especially music of the Renaissance.  The choir’s name is derived from two sources:  from Greek mythology, the beautiful nymph Echo, and the Italian word for “Behold.”
