
Program Description
Designed primarily for classical guitar, the pre-college guitar program is intended for high school students who wish to refine their technique and expand their repertoire through individual lessons and group classes. The program includes technique workshops, repertoire class, individual lessons and group masterclasses. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of styles and techniques that will strengthen their performance skills and prepare them for college auditions, recital planning, competitions, etc.
Pre-College Guitar
Eligibility
For students completing grades 9-12.
At least two years of guitar experience, and one year of classical guitar experience.
Typical Daily Schedule
8:15 – 9:15 am: Warm-up/Techniques Class
9:30 – 10:30 am: Individual Practice/Lessons
10:45 – 11:45 am: Guitar Ensemble
12:00 – 1:00 pm: Lunch
1:15 – 2:15 pm: Repertoire Class
2:30 – 3:30 pm: Master Class
3:45 – 4:45 pm: Electives
5:15 pm: Dinner and Evening Activities
10:30 pm: Lights out
Tuition
Resident – $850 (tuition, room and board)
Commuter – $550 (tuition and lunch only)
