Master of Music in Composition
The Master of Music is typically a two-year degree program. The program entails 32 credit hours that are completed on campus. Study includes individual composition lessons which focus on contemporary compositional techniques, advanced music theory courses, and elective credits. Graduate students typically have one major piece performed in concert by the Illinois Modern Ensemble at some point in their degree program. The Illinois Modern Ensemble is also typically available onece per semester for composition readings.
