Bachelor of Music

The Bachelor of Music degree is designed for students interested in a traditional music degree with a concentraion in a specific area. The BMUS degree will help students prepare for careers or graduate study as performers, scholars, or composers.

• Open Studies (Piano Pedagogy, Theatre, Music Industry, you decide!)

The Bachelor of Music degree is comprised of the following types of courses:

• General Education courses: 33 hours
• Music Core (theory, history, ensembles, conducting): 49 hours
• Major-Specific Courses: 44-64 (depending upon choice of major)
• Electives (as needed for total)

In order to be considered for acceptance into a BMUS program, students must pass an audition in addition to completing all parts of the application process.
