The College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites nominations and applications for the position of Director and Professor of the School of Music. The School seeks a dynamic national leader with a proven record of principled engagement with both traditional and experimental approaches to music instruction, research, and creative activity. The next Director will work with faculty and staff, building on the School’s rich accomplishments to discover new and sustaining possibilities for music’s role in 21st century arts, education, scholarship, and social engagement.
Assistant Professor of Musicology/Ethnomusicology
The School of Music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks an excellent scholar as a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor with teaching and research interests that complement the specializations of the current Musicology faculty in geographical and historical terms. The successful candidate will work in a program that combines the perspectives of music historians and ethnomusicologists, and will join colleagues who place high value on fostering a diverse and inclusive culture. The School of Music seeks Specialized Faculty for one or more part-time and full-time non-tenure track positions. These are one-year or one-semester positions, renewable depending on school needs. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to college-level teaching, an ability to provide courses to diverse student population, and exhibit versatile instructional ability for undergraduate and graduate students.
