Program Specific Requirements
1. Complete an audition.
2. Participate in an Interview: Applicants must participate in an interview with a member of the Music Education faculty. This interview is normally scheduled as part of the on-campus audition process. If the applicant is not visiting the campus in person then the interview must take place via Skype or conference call on the same date as the on-campus interviews. During the interview our faculty will engage the applicant in a discussion of their musical background, leadership experience, and long-term professional goals. Applicants will also have the opportunity to ask the faculty questions about the B.M.E degree program, the various courses of study at the School of Music and the university experience in general.
3. Meet the ACT/SAT Requirement: To be eligible to enter the Music Education certification track, students must have a score of 22 or higher on the ACT along with a 6 or higher on the writing portion of the ACT or a score of 1110 or higher on the SAT with a 26 or higher on the writing and language test.
